Required EU Aviation Liability Insurance Limits
The European Union and the United Kingdom, separately post Brexit, have a tiered approach to their legal requirements for aircraft liability insurance coverage necessary to land or operate an aircraft in their airspace.
It is based upon the Aircraft’s Maximum Take-Off Weight (MTOW) and the number of seats the aircraft is configured for. Use the link to the attached chart to calculate how much liability insurance you will require for your trip but be mindful of the fact that the U.S. Dollar requirements will fluctuate with the value of the basket of currencies used to derive the Special Drawing Right (SDR)
